  • Hello. Could I ask what method you use to get the images of the maps of caves, towns and islands? Or if JorritL or Potatobrain or anyone else who has uploaded map images see this and could answer, that would be great too.

    Do you have a special method of obtaining the complete images, or do you simply use the ingame screenshot feature and carefully piece together the multiple parts to make a full map? Thanks. ^^

    • For all the maps I made, I just took screenshots and carefully stiched them together using gimp. I put each screenshot on its own layer and moved them around until they all lined up and all the holes were filled. Because all of my sceenshots overlapped, I could check to see if they were truely alined correctly by bringing a layer forward and backword. if there was no change in the overlapping portion of the image, I then knew I had it right.

    • Thanks for replying. Ah, that's exactly what I was going to do, also using gimp myself. I was kind of hoping you guys had some secret technique to extract the complete maps direct from the game. :D

      I've been considering contributing to this wiki for quite a while. I've never been sure whether Darrell was in favour of there being a comprehensive guide for the game, and I feel game guides spoil the fun of a game like this, so I've been hesitant about it. However, I used this wiki myself to figure out how to progress through the game, and also I keep seeing people try the game and give up after becoming lost on where to go. So I think now I'd like to start contributing a bit, since I've completed the story and several of the other game modes fully. ^^

    • I've had some discussions with Darrell about various aspects of the game in the past. He seems to feel that it is in bad taste for the creators of games to give interpretations and reasons for story/content. But he setup the forums and chat room so that players could help each other out. So, I don't think he has any problems with this wiki, but don't expect him to ever contribute to the wiki.

      As for spoiling the fun, I think that is up to each player. If they just want to read everything and skip the discovery process, that is their choice. But I find that I lose interest when I've spent too long trying to overcome a road-block and see no new strategies to try. If I use hints or out-right explanations, I can't claim the glory and satisfaction of having done it all myself, but at least I can continue to play and learn.

  • Hey Trescott, seems like your pretty active on the wiki here.

    I recently upgraded to common use kanji, and I'm stuck at a certain point wondering how to advance the plot. Dont really want to say more than that in case in case of spoilers, but if your past episode 4 maybe we could discuss it.

    • I saw your post on the LRNJ.com fourm. I have not completed episode 4. I have not played in a long time for various reason. Last time I played I had reached kabu kabu but had not entered the castle.

      When you solve your problem, add it here in the appropreate place. You can also add help for all the other things you have learn that are missing from this wiki. I have seen that you have been contributing, and I think that is great.

  • I have uploaded svg maps of the Ghost/ Slime Island and the Ytlin Cave. Especially useful for mobile devices. I hope you can use them

    • I'm swamped with school right now, would you like to add them to where they should be? I won't have time to do it until 2 week from now. They look good.

    • Thanks for your reply.

      I'll edit them a bit more so that they are consistent with the labels on the site and don't show any more spoilers when viewed. The spoiler descriptions are still there, but the layer they are in is hidden by default. This way the spoilers will only show up if someone fires up an svg editor and unhides that layer.

      I'll PM you again when everything (that is the caves I got to visit until now) is up to snuff and my maps can replace the present images for the caves. The mobile site version will need to show images (not the case right now) in order for this work to be effective on mobile devices though. The present layer structure that pops up may look pretty on a desktop PC, It's a disaster on any mobile device.

      Good luck with school. 頑張ってくださいね

  • Please place replace the code in the MediaWiki:Wikia.js with the following code:

    (function($) {
        $('.spoiler').css({"background": "black", "color": "black"});

        $('.spoiler').mouseenter(function() {
            $(this).css({"background": "transparent", "color": "inherit"});
        });

        $('.spoiler').mouseout(function() {
            $(this).css({"background": "black", "color": "black"});
        });
    }(this.jQuery));

    • Good Job!

      It looks great.

      Thanks for putting in the effort to make this look better. I'll be finished with school in another week, and then I'll be busy with work during the break, but I may have some time to expaned the wiki more. What I need is to get further into the game so I know more to add.

  • Congratulations you are now an admin. You can rollback pages to remove vandalism and whatnot but try not to protect pages unneccessarily as it prevents them from being updated by normal users.

    Myep.... try not to go mad with power.

    • I... I am so jelly. They have never offered Japanese where I live.

      But yeah, I didn't even know about this game until my ad-blocker was disabled and I saw an advertisement for it. Usually I don't click advertisements but a f2p Japanese teaching RPG was too good to pass up.

    • My high school didn't offer Japanese ether. I had to take spanish. I had no interest and no motivation. So I did very poorly in that class. But universities tend to have more offerings.
