Opening __[]
Episode 2 begins with Jenk's knighting and congratulatory dialog. If Jenk ventures out at this point he will find that he has no ship as it was left behind when he, with the Princess and party, were transported magically back to the castle. If he returns to speak with the King, he will given him a replacement, a small fishing boat. (That looks identical to the pirate ship). Jenk does not need to leave the castle to trigger the dialog and gift.
Jenk has two destinations to choose from at this point. Desert Island (for spells), or Ytlin.
[]
If Jenk did not collect the artifacts from the cave on the Island of Slimes, he can speak to the Princess to receive them.
To begin the next quest, Jenk needs to take the artifacts to the castle's sage. The sage will decipher their purpose and will assemble them into the Apparatus. The apparatus is an equipable tool. The Interpret Navigation Book guide provides a walkthrough of this quest.
Noteworthy Mentions[]
- Slime Island disappears once completed. Any chests that were not opened are inaccessible. However, the Princess has the Artifacts that Jenk needs to continue the quest.
- Cat Island is temporarily accessible where the Island of Slimes was located. However, it will disappear once Jenk collects the Artifacts. If you wish to see Cat Island, do not collect the artifacts from Slime Island Cave and sail over before speaking with the green haired girl.
- Desert Island appears where Cat Island was located once the Apparatus has been assembled. Jenk can sail to Desert Island to gain his first spell. The island will be available throughout all of Episode 2, 3, and 4. Desert Island has Word review slimes which can be encountered on the sea near the island.
- Jenk can train with Jagaimo island's review slimes before heading to Ytlin to take advantage of Jenk's home to refill health 3 times per day.
- Jenk's brother's meals can still be upgraded with items from the general store. The upgrades begin with the Kitchen oil. The final upgrade increases healing of the meals to 125 health.
- Sleeping in Jenk's sleeping bag is free, however his health will still only replenish to 70 and slimes can steal some gold.
- Ytlin also has an Inn that costs 20 gold and fully recovers Jenk's health which is safe from slimes.
- Halfway across Ytlin island there is a cottage where Jenk can rest for free and also has three meals per day similar to his home. However, these meals increase Jenk's maximum health by 1 per meal up to 125.
- Slimes in the Ytlin cave and other islands require an upgraded weapon to damage. This can be crafted during Episode 2's quest.
- The first 2 floors of Ytlin cave require 200 Kanji (300 kanji on no kana mode) to navigate.
- Completing the Ytlin cave requires 300 kanji (400 kanji in no kana mode).
Closing: Return Home with the Spoils __[]
After retrieving the Navigation book, Jenk brings the book to the Sage in Jagaimo castle. The book describes the islands surrounding Jagaimo. With this information, they realize the Apparatus points toward Ytlin and always points away from Catwald. He then states that perhaps the residents of either of these islands may be able to provide information that can be used to translate the book.
Since Jenk found the book on Ytlin, this clue leads him to Catwald to continue with Episode 3..
